The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) met with the Thai Society Innovation Network (TSIN) in London to establish systematic support mechanisms connecting young Thai researchers in the UK with Thailand’s national innovation ecosystem.

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), held collaborative discussions with the Thai Society Innovation Network (TSIN) at the Office of Educational Affairs in London, United Kingdom, to establish support mechanisms for young Thai researchers and connect Thai talent abroad with domestic research networks.
Ms. Kamolwan Sattayayut, Minister (Education), welcomed the NRCT delegation led by Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of NRCT, who emphasized NRCT’s commitment to developing research and innovation talent and enabling Thai scholars abroad to contribute their international expertise and networks to Thailand’s development.
Ms. Sirinporn Deawtrakool, Deputy Executive Director of NRCT, presented an overview of international researcher networking initiatives, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anak Khantachawana, Head of the Hub of Talent on Minimally Invasive Medical Devices and Standardization, presented support pathways through the Hub of Talent framework and gathered insights from Thai students in the UK.
Ms. Ketsara Eka-udompong and Mr. Sirichai Ruangwiset of NRCT also shared research funding mechanisms and pathways to support postdoctoral researchers and translate research into practical impact.
The discussions concluded with three strategic priorities: connecting researchers with funding, laboratories, and public-private partnerships through the Hub of Talent network; establishing clear intellectual property management from project inception to support technology transfer and commercialization; and building a database of Thai students and researchers abroad to drive Thailand’s long-term science, research, and innovation competitiveness.
